Dr. Jekyll And Mr. Hyde
(R. L. Stevenson)
"The Jekyll and Hyde"was in its time, considered an excellent book of horror and suspense, that deeply marked his readers. The story revolves around the renowned physician, Dr. Jekyll, who has been behaving strangely, calling attention to his employees and friends. Increasingly isolated in his laboratory, Jekyll begins to worry Mr. Utterson, a lawyer and friend of the doctor, especially when in possession of his intriguing testament. Meanwhile, in the city, a curious guy and attitudes seem bizarre wreaking havoc and terrorizing the locals with his brusque attitudes and brutalized. Mr. Utterson suspects the involvement of his friend with the strange stranger, and does not agree with such grace that Dr. Jekyll has been treating this intriguing young man named Mr. Hyde. The case is further complicated by the death of Sir Davens, a distinguished member of parliament in London. Suspicion falls on Mr. Hide, which is seen entering the home several times from Jekyll and even carries a check on behalf of the physician. Finding the rather puzzling case, and fearing for the life of a friend, Mr. Utterson decides to clear up this story and goes to the doctor's residence in search of explanations. No surprise ending, Dr. Jekyll shows his friend that in fact he and Mr. Hide was a lonely, terrible result of an experiment in their laboratories. Taking the formula itself, Dr. Jekyll has been severed in two: a kind of personality (the doctor) and other personality essesncialmente bad (Mr. Hide.) Increasingly weak, Jekyll can not fight the young and daring Hide and fears for his own death. The book has a haunting atmosphere throughout the plot, becoming like a classic mystery.
